Indoor Season Info - Letter from the President

UpdatedWednesday October 9, 2019 byMatt Schindler.

Welcome to HYL’s Indoor 2019/2020 Season!

The letter below holds a lot of detail regarding this season and beyond.  Please keep somewhere for easy reference.  Please direct specific questions to the appropriate coordinator.  * HYL typically does not respond Facebook messenger *

Indoor Season Philosophy:

  • Hilton Youth Lacrosse along with our Girl & Boy school programs make up HILTON LACROSSE. We organize, communicate, structure, and succeed with a K- 12 approach.  Expect to see school coaches and players occasionally drop in to help.  We are ONEprogram, ONEfamily, ONEteam
  • HYL encourages participation in other activities and interests. During the Indoor Season, all we ask is for effective and timely communication with coaches on known conflicts.
  • We coach and develop by LEVEL and not by team. All coaches are your coaches, all players are your teammates.  Successes and struggles are shared across grade, position, and roster
  • Indoor practices are for development, indoor games are an opportunity to apply that training, they are NOT a reflection on the progress and growth of any player or team.
  • Indoor is development for Spring Success!

Fundraising / Sponsorship:

  • HYL stopped applying a program wide mandatory fundraiser last year. Instead we focus on program sponsorships to help offset costs & registration fee’s
  • We also place an expectation on families to support our Hilton School Boys & Girls Lacrosse fundraisers. (i.e. Leo’s Pie’s this month… email to come)
  • HYL receives a small benefit from working the Apple Fest & Knighthawk ticket sales. Which is why participation is heavily encouraged.
  • January will launch our 2020 sponsorship drive with tiers and opportunities for any business.
  • For community or sponsorship questions, please contact

Other Notes:

  • There are a few more spots available on Girls 3/4 and K-2, please let friends & classmates know as registration will close soon. All other levels are full.
  • HYL will coordinate a food drive to support the Hilton Parma Emergency Food Shelf this holiday season
  • HYL Knighthawk Night is being targeted for February again
  • Any outstanding registration fee’s need to be paid or players may be withheld from participation. For questions or arrangements, please contact

Spring Season: March – early June

  • registration will open in January, we're anticipating large numbers
  • Equip nights and a full Program Meeting in February
  • Spring Season starts 3/1 for Boys and 3/2 for Girls
  • weeknight indoor space & Sunday indoor / outdoor turf time through mid-April
  • outdoor until early June
  • a few spring season highlights: tournaments, HYL college game days, varsity ball boy & girl sign ups, participation in Senior Night celebrations, team parties, etc.

A lot of information but there's a lot to cover as we jump into 2019/2020 lacrosse!  Hilton Lacrosse has terrific momentum within our community and players have more opportunities for growth, development, and fun than ever before.  Let’s all have a fun, safe, and successful Indoor Season!

On behalf of the entire board and coaching staff… thanks for your commitment to HYL.
