A Letter from Coach Lepiane
Hilton Varsity and HYL are Teaming up for Success!Updated Friday September 14, 2018 by HYL.
Dear HYL Families,
I would like to formally introduce myself, my name is Craig Lepiane and have been recently appointed the Head Lacrosse Coach at Hilton High School. I am extremely excited to be a part of the Cadet community!
One of my goals and programming focuses is to be very active in our youth program. Although the high school is a very important part of my job, the youth is the future of this program. I have already reached out to several parents and board members of HYL regarding the structure and development of our kids. It has been an absolute pleasure working with President, Sean Palmer – building a specific alignment between the high school and youth, creating ONE program. With this transition and design, Hilton’s youth program will begin to become seamless with the Modified – Varsity teams strengthening its structure and support.
With HYL actively building the schedules for this upcoming fall and winter training, I wanted to inform everyone that the Varsity program and its players will be helping and actively engaging with our youth. The coaches and myself along with my players will be providing support to the community during a handful of your scheduled training sessions. Having our Varsity players and staff “giving back” will help provide a boost of support while strengthen our lacrosse community. Giving back is a very helpful and powerful tool, creating a culture and positive atmosphere for our young players to grow up in and experience – ultimately creating a strong tradition within our community.
One area which I would like to touch on is the importance of Town Commitment and Club. I am very open about this topic as I work full time for a Club program – 3d Upstate. I think the club atmosphere can help build our players and offer them an additional training piece. With that being said, I think it is very manageable to make sure that we are accessing both training pieces & opportunities. Having the ability to train within our program and alongside your teammates is a crucial piece to the overall cohesion and development of our players and future teams. At the end of the day, HYL is working to provide our families and children with the best opportunity to succeed. I will personally be involved to make sure that the programming and training at HYL remains high-quality and in the best interest of our families and development of our youth.
With the fall season just around the corner, I am excited to meet everyone within our community. If you see me at a practice or event - please don’t hesitate to say hello. I will do my best to make sure I introduce myself.
Let’s have a great program year!
